‘$80,000 in debt!’ 24-yr-old unwilling to climb corporate ladder rages over not finding high-paying job
Social media users had plenty of advice for a stressed-out Gen Z woman complaining about her employment prospects.
The 24-year-old ranted in a TikTok video about how difficult it has been to land a corporate gig even though she has gone $80,000 into debt to get her marketing degree.
“I have a bone to pick with America,” the tube-top-clad young woman began from the driver’s seat of her car.
She explained that she was on her way to her serving job, which she “f-ing” hates, as she sipped her Starbucks.
“I have my literal business marketing degree, that put me in a cute $80,000 in debt, and I make more serving sushi rolls,” she continued, claiming she has been applying to marketing jobs for weeks but “the pay cut is insane.”
She went on to complain about competing against those with more experience in “corporate-ass America.”
“All I got’s my degree, you know, people say ‘get your degree’ but then they don’t talk about how you need experience,” she complained.
Big part of the problem right here. She can get a job in her field but she doesn’t want it unless she can start at 200k a year. She’s not willing to put in the work to climb the ladder, so she’ll stay at the bottom forever and whine about it the whole time. https://t.co/Vx6GAbh3OQ

Her complaints were met with a brutal reality check on X:
Let me paraphrase her rant…
‘All I got is my $80,000 degree’…and my charming personality.— Saratoga Smitty (@SaratogaSmitty) October 18, 2023
I find it hard to take someone like this serious, a degree is a piece of paper, not experience. Quit blaming corporate America for your unwillingness to accept working your way up is normal, how else does she think experience is obtained, TikTok?

She didn’t take the course in “putting in effort 101”.

Look at that luxury vehicle.
She deserves the debt.

Well, considering she can’t even wear a seatbelt correctly, I’d say life experience has skipped her as well

Companies don’t care what you *know* they only care what you can do.
What can this lady actually do, that someone without her degree could not do?
This is what young people need to understand.

“The degree was the experience” lol.
I think I figured out why she can’t get hired.— STX❤️Oregon (@stxpdx) October 18, 2023
